| Key
Skills are a lot more than just another certificate, certainly
in the way that we deliver them at ITS. The Key Skills course
aims at improving the students' overall professional performance
in Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology,
both generally and in relation to their work.
From that
point of view:
- Key
Skills are valuable at work, as effective skills
in spoken and written communication, mastery at numeracy
and computer knowledge are essential for any job.
- Key
Skills are an inseparable part of life, because they
relate to all day-today activities and interactions with
others.
- Key
Skills are important in learning, because they develop
the ability to concentrate, find information, memorise essential
data and produce original work.
- Key
Skills are highly valued by both employers and higher
education institutions.
